Choco-Story, Manhattan’s first ever chocolate museum and experience with Jacques Torres, also known as Mr. Chocolate, is now open at 350 Hudson Street.

At Choco-Story New York visitors will discover the story of chocolate and its journey from bean to bar through original artifacts, nine premium tastings, kids’ corner and a bon bon making class, offering an educational – and delicious – hands-on experience for families, children, and chocolate lovers. For this venture, Jacques partnered with Eddy Van Belle, chocolate aficionado and founder of four other Choco-Story museums around the world, from Belgium to Uxmal. Choco-Story New York traces the history of cacao and chocolate by telling the story of its origin and evolution through authentic artifacts.

The 5,000-square-foot museum includes nine premium chocolate tastings consisting of blend and single origin chocolates in white, milk and dark varieties, original Mayan hot chocolate freshly ground by hand, and hand-made chocolate truffles. In addition to the museum tour tastings, taught by a professional chocolatier, customers may register to participate in a chocolate making class where they will be able to sample their own handiwork.

The museum features a kids’ corner, a fun, educational space where children can dig for “undiscovered artifacts” in a sand pit and play chocolate shop proprietor with a toy kitchen and cash register.

Don’t forget to pick up some of Jacques Torres’s delicious creations at the gift shop on your way out.
