Longwood Gardens

We recently visited the Orchid Extravaganza at Longwood Gardens, about an hour west from Philadelphia. It was so beautiful, we went two days in a row. We were very impressed with the orchid displays set up in various rooms within their four acre conservatory.

The number of orchids on display tally close to 6,000. From giant orbs made of 70 Phalaenopsis orchids to orchid baskets to double-sided curtains filled with 200-mixed Vanda orchids, there are so many to see you can easily spend hours wandering the conservatory.

The Orchid Extravaganza tops our list as one of the best orchid shows in North America. Have you visited Longwood Gardens? We highly recommend making a day trip out of it. The show runs through March 27, 2019. We look forward to visiting again soon.
