There are many new products that keep beverages cold and hot for hours. Brands include S’well, Hydro Flask, evrgrn, and more. Before our trip to the Outer Banks, we bought a YETI Rambler Tumbler after reading many positive reviews online and from friends.

Product Description (from YETI)
With the Rambler™ 20 oz. Tumbler, your beverages will stay ice cold or piping hot longer. We over-engineered the Tumblers with an 18/8 stainless steel body and double-wall vacuum insulation, which means that this cup can take a beating while your drink keeps its temperature — no problem. They’re BPA-free (obviously), have a No Sweat™ Design to make sure your hands stay dry, and are dishwasher-safe. Plus its crystal-clear lid lets you check your drink status in a flash. Refill, anyone?

This week we put our YETI to the test.

  • Road Trip with Hot Coffee – The drive from Westport, Connecticut to Duck, North Carolina took a little over 8 hours. The coffee was still warm after 5 hours. I’m sure it would have been warm past that, but who would wait that long to finish coffee?
  • Hot Day on the Beach – Filled the YETI with pineapple juice and ice and left it out in the sun for the whole day. Temperature outside reached about 86 degrees. Though we finished the juice in a couple hours, the ice was still in the tumbler after 12 hours. By then, we threw it out and washed the YETI for the next drink.

Thoughts
We love it. It’s great for road trips, on the beach, or for a commute. The 20 oz is a good size, but for those who want a bigger size YETI, there’s also a 30 oz tumbler available.
